Role Overview
Regional Education Manager – The HON Company (HNI Corporation) – Workplace Furnishings team
Drive HON’s education business within a region through market development, dealer capability building, and direct engagement with K‑12 and Higher Education decision‑makers. Influence district‑level relationships, develop dealer readiness, and align regional strategies with HON’s vision.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute the regional education strategy through dealer networks and end‑user engagement to achieve sustainable sales growth and increased market share.
- Lead relationships with district‑level administrators, superintendents, and principals to identify upcoming opportunities and position HON as a partner in educational transformation.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with priority education dealers, collaborating directly with dealer principals to develop their sales force, drive engagement, and strengthen alignment with HON’s education initiatives.
- Work alongside dealer sales teams and internal sales members to pursue high‑priority projects, including large bond‑funded and district‑wide opportunities, ensuring coordinated pursuit and early engagement.
- Develop and manage a regional bond targeting framework to track, qualify, and pursue all education capital funding opportunities in partnership with Business Development peers and dealer sales representatives.
- Serve as an advisor to districts and higher education institutions, connecting their learning goals, facility plans, and equity initiatives with HON’s design and product solutions.
- Conduct strategic business reviews with dealer principals to evaluate performance, identify growth opportunities, and align action plans for expanding HON Education’s reach.
- Partner with Channel Marketing and Product Management to deliver education‑specific campaigns, promotional programs, and market activations that drive brand visibility and performance.
- Represent HON Education at industry trade shows, state education conferences, and association events to strengthen HON’s position as a thought leader and trusted education partner.
- Utilize CRM systems to manage pipeline activity, monitor dealer performance, and ensure accurate forecasting. Provide timely insights and market intelligence on competition, trends, and opportunities.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with internal teams to ensure execution excellence across operations, marketing, and product functions.
- Participate in activities as appropriate to ensure the success of the organization.
- Previous experience navigating with business decision makers within the education space.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, education, or related field preferred.
- At least 5 years of commercial furnishings or education sector sales experience (7 years preferred) for Regional Education Manager.
- Proven history of developing strong relationships and engagement with district administrators, dealer principals, and internal sales teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex strategic initiatives across multiple stakeholders and regions.
- Ability to serve as a change agent influencing internal sales members, dealers, and education partners to adopt new approaches, strategies, and solutions that elevate HON’s impact.
- For Senior Regional Education Manager: at least 7 years of experience (9 years preferred) and demonstrated success in navigating and winning regional education sector business.
