About the Role
We are a busy beauty supply retail store seeking a part-time bookkeeper to work on-site in the store. The bookkeeper will handle daily sales reconciliation, vendor invoices, and basic financial reporting to keep our books accurate and up to date.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile daily POS sales, cash, and credit card receipts and prepare bank deposits.
- Enter and track vendor bills for inventory and store supplies (accounts payable).
- Maintain accurate records of expenses and sales tax information.
- Reconcile bank and merchant statements on a regular basis.
- Assist with basic payroll data (hours reports) for our payroll provider, if needed.
- Prepare simple monthly reports (sales summaries, profit & loss snapshots) for the owner/manager.
- 1-3 years bookkeeping or small business accounting experience (retail preferred).
- Experience with accounting software (Quick Books or similar) and POS reports.
- Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and reliability in an in-store environment.
- Comfortable working with numbers, receipts, and resolving discrepancies.
