Salary & Commission

$15.00 to $19.50 per hour plus an easily achievable commission structure that pays for every transaction you process. Retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, averaging an additional $4.89 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking entry‑level, part‑time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The role involves greeting, engaging, and interacting with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions. Associates work with a variety of jewelry, general merchandise, tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations) and more.

The Part‑Time Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. Actual pay will be based on location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Greets and interacts with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
  • Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
  • Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and displays merchandise.
  • Performs sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Handles all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Answers incoming calls per company standards.
  • Effectively communicates to customers the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions.
  • Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, displaying respect and using effective communication tools.
  • Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
  • Successfully completes the assigned training.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willing to perform duties and tasks for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting).
  • Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
  • May be asked to assist a customer outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage.
  • Minimum age: 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong desire to work, serve customers, work with people, and be team‑oriented.
  • Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficient in basic math calculations.
  • Cash handling experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible retail schedule based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
  • Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.

Commission Plan Information

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2–8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Applicants receive more details during the interview process.
