We need your talent, knowledge and dedication to better our world with biology.
** Our purpose points the way
** In Novonesis, we know that solutions rooted in biology can help solve humanity’s biggest challenges. Since we began more than a century ago, this has been our guide. It’s how we've gotten so far. And it’s how we'll impact the future. Now, more than ever, the world needs change. And with biosolutions, the possibilities for transformation are endless.
** We’re here to better our world with biology.
**** Join us as our new laboratory technician
** We are looking for a dedicated laboratory technician with an eye for details and experience with molecular biology and biochemistry. In this role you will be part of the binder team. Our team is embedded in the functional area "Molecular Discovery" which encompasses a broad range of competencies: enzyme and protein discovery, molecular biology, assay development, bioinformatics, and protein design, all with purpose of identifying and engineering enzymes or proteins that will become products in industrial biosolutions.
** Welcome to the Binder team
** The Binder team is a dynamic group within Molecular Discovery, dedicated to the discovery of novel binding proteins (e.g. antibody fragments or AI-generated binders). The team consists of a Science Director, three Scientists, one Senior Laboratory Technician and is currently looking to hire one additional technician. We are working together in dynamic project-based teams to develop high‑quality binding proteins for a broad range of projects and industrial applications.
Collaboration and open communication are central to our way of working, and we partner closely with colleagues across the organization to deliver the best possible biosolutions. We value curiosity, teamwork, and a supportive atmosphere, and we look forward to welcoming someone who thrives in an interactive, fast‑moving research environment.
As part of this role, we offer:
* A friendly, transparent, and supportive work environment
* A team-oriented structure that values empowerment and collaboration
* Exceptional opportunities for professional growth
* An exciting workplace where no day is like the other
* Broad range of instrumentation and techniques available
** In this role you’ll make an impact by:
** In this role, you will work alongside colleagues to conduct phage display selection campaigns for binder discovery. You will also perform cloning, binding, and activity assays to screen for promising candidates, followed by protein characterization prior to application testing carried out by other teams. In addition, you will share the common responsibility for maintaining a safe and well-functioning work environment.
** To succeed you should:
*** Be trained as a laboratory technician and have 2+ years of hands‑on experience working in a research laboratory setting (bachelor/master degrees not applicable).
* Be skilled in core molecular biology and bioanalytical techniques, including cloning, PCR, microbial transformations, and 96/384-well assays (e.g., enzymatic assays, ELISA, qPCR).
* Be experienced in — or eager to develop skills within — methods for protein–protein interaction analysis.
* Be detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy, consistently demonstrating high attention to detail in analyses.
* Show interest in laboratory automation and digitalization to improve workflows
* Be comfortable in a dynamic research environment where experimentation, iteration, and troubleshooting are part of the daily work
* Be collaborative and open-minded, quick to adjust to new situations, thriving in multicultural teams, communicating fluently in English and maintaining a positive, results-driven attitude.
** Final date to receive applications**:
March 1st, 2026. We will screen in-coming applications and invite for interviews continuously during the application…
