Overview

Piedmont Properties is currently seeking to fill a property accountant role for our firm. This position will primarily handle accounting responsibilities for the property management division, including Piedmont Property Management Services and related entities, as well as general administrative needs shared between support team.

Property Accountant

Piedmont Properties of the Carolinas, Inc. is a commercial real estate brokerage firm located in Charlotte, North Carolina that has been in business for over 30 years. We have a team of 8 brokers and offer a full range of brokerage services to our clients including, but not limited to sales and leasing; tenant representation; property management; site selection; disposition; investments;

tax-deferred exchanges; build-to-suit; and real estate evaluations. Piedmont Properties’ vision is to be and build upon our reputation as a high-quality, client-oriented real estate service firm offering our services to local and worldwide corporations.

Property Accounting Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for multiple properties and entities
  • Enter and verify lease and accounting data in Yardi
  • Process Journal Entries
  • Manage month-end close processes
  • Prepare Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Financial Reports
  • Work closely with CPAs to assist in tax preparation
  • Communicate directly with tenants and landlords
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets
  • Coordinate with property manager to address financial queries
  • Oversee tenant billing
  • Monitor and manage property cash flows
General administrative responsibilities
  • Maintain Office Equipment
  • Order Supplies
  • Copy/File/Organize/Record-keeping
  • Knowledge of computers and resolving basic computer errors

Professional requirements

The ideal candidate for this position should be a trustworthy team player, self-motivated, and have the ability to multitask, think critically, and problem-solve. The firm values candidates with a desire and openness to learn new things as it relates to the real estate industry. Previous experience with Yardi Breeze, Microsoft Office applications, and real estate and/or property management experience are highly desired.
