Title: Surgery Service Team Lead – Charlotte, Carolina Veterinary Specialists
Pay: $26.00–$32.00 per hour

About the RoleOur surgery team leads work closely with our surgeons, supporting all aspects of surgical and patient care—including elective, emergency, and specialized procedures. They
Schedule: 4-day work week with rotating shared on-call.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of veterinary anesthesia experience.
- Licensed Veterinary Technician must be completed or actively in progress. This does not include partially completed programs that are no longer active.
- An understanding of and previous experience with ventilator equipment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-centered environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills for dictating surgical flow and case records.
- Sterile technique proficiency. Team lead is expected to become proficient running the table for advanced procedures such as joint replacement, tracheal stents, and minimally invasive surgery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostics and intra-operative surgical assisting
- Local nerve blocks and epidural administration
- Anesthesia administration, monitoring, and intervention. This includes critical care anesthesia such as (arterial catheters, multiple vasopressors, and central line placement)
- Patient recovery and client education
- Venipuncture, catheterization, surgical prep, lab sample preparation, and more

- At least 2 years of anesthesia induction, administration, monitoring, and recovery experience
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills
- Able to sit/stand for long periods; occasional bending/kneeling; lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Solid foundational technical skills (venipuncture, catheter placement, lab work, anesthesia, pharmacology)
