Registered Nurse; ICU

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and evaluate patient progress in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
• Identify and respond to sudden or subtle changes in patient conditions, ensuring timely intervention.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and families, providing regular updates on patient status.
• Administer medications and treatments, carefully monitoring dosage and patient response.
• Respond to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions, alerting the medical team as needed.
• Provide comprehensive patient care throughout their ICU stay, ensuring comfort and well-being.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation, including patient records and transfer paperwork.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and medical directives.
• Utilize health information technology and electronic health records (EHR) to maintain accurate patient data.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as an ICU RN or Critical Care RN.
• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (or compact state).
• Proficiency in using health information systems and EHR.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including days and nights.
• Exceptional empathy, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-stress and emotionally demanding environment.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• CCRN certification preferred.
