Registered Nurse - Levine Children's Hosptial - CVICU

Job title:

Registered Nurse – CVICU (Pediatrics) at Levine Children's Hospital. Full time position with benefits eligible.

Unit: CVICU/Pediatric cardiovascular intensive care unit. The unit recently expanded from 10 beds to 20 beds and supports neonates to 18-year-olds. Typical patient population includes pre-operative and post-operative repair of congenital heart defects, heart transplant, ventricular assist devices, acquired heart disease, ECMO, CRRT, and related care. Staffing ratio is usually 1:1 or 1:2 with patients monitored closely until stable for transfer to progressive care.

• Provide professional nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement an individualized care plan and coordinate care delivery to promote safety and health outcomes.
• Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers in line with legal and policy parameters.
• Evaluate patient progress toward goals and outcomes; practice with cultural diversity and inclusion in mind.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with patients, families, and the health care team.
• Lead within the professional practice setting and integrate evidence and research findings into practice.
• Contribute to quality nursing practice and uphold professional standards and guidelines.
• Utilize resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based, safe, effective, and fiscally responsible nursing services.
• Maintain an ethically and environmentally safe practice; support shared governance and research to improve clinical outcomes.

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per policy guidelines.
• Current RN license in the state of work (or valid compact state license as applicable); eligible for licensure in the state of residence if required.
• At least 6 months of RN experience required; this position is not open to new graduates.

  Schedule details include variable shifts with rotating 6 weeks on days, 6 weeks on nights; weekend and holiday requirements.
• Pay range: $34.90 – $52.35 per hour.
• This position is sign-on bonus eligible based on eligibility.
