Atrium Health Pineville Mother‑Baby is a 22‑bed fast‑paced unit caring for postpartum women and their newborns in a couplet care model. The unit serves low‑to‑high‑risk patients and includes care for postpartum patients on Magnesium. It is designated as a Baby‑Friendly Hospital by Baby‑Friendly USA, focuses on lactation support, and is on the Magnet journey to nursing excellence. The environment prioritizes teamwork and offers opportunities for growth, including certification in maternal‑newborn care and participation in unit‑based committees such as the Unit Based Council.
Expectations We’re Looking For
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
What You’ll Do
Responsible for the direct provision of patient care and for assisting the manager with daily operations, including but not limited to coordination of patient care/outcomes, allocation of human and fiscal resources, communications, patient throughput, program development and oversight, patient, physician and employee rounding, selection, development, and retention of staff, clinical supervision and performance appraisal, performance improvement activities, service recovery and compliance with regulatory agency requirements.
Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the population of patients served.
