About Aunt Connie’s House Inc.

Aunt Connie’s House Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Mecklenburg County, NC, dedicated to supporting young adults ages 16–26 who are aging out of foster care or experiencing housing instability. We are developing a youth-focused transitional housing and workforce development model designed to reduce homelessness, strengthen financial capability, and expand access to education and employment pathways.

Our approach integrates housing readiness, financial literacy, career development, and coordinated referrals into a structured, outcome-driven support system. Through partnerships with universities, County agencies, employers, and community organizations, we are building a scalable model that aligns with local housing and economic mobility priorities and can be replicated in cities nationwide.

Role Overview

The Program Coordinator Fellow will support the launch and implementation of ACH’s pilot youth housing and workforce initiative. This role offers hands-on leadership experience in nonprofit program development, community partnerships, data tracking, and public systems collaboration.

The Fellow will work closely with the Founder & CEO to help design program systems, coordinate weekly sessions, and support participant engagement and outcomes reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support coordination of weekly life skills and workforce development sessions
  • Assist with participant intake, onboarding, and case documentation
  • Track program data, outcomes, and attendance
  • Support outreach to employer, university, and community partners
  • Assist with grant reporting and institutional communications
  • Help document program processes and systems for future scaling
Qualifications
  • Senior undergraduate or graduate student in social work, public policy, nonprofit management, education, psychology, business, or related field
  • Strong organizational, communication, and professionalism skills
  • Interest in housing stability, workforce development, or youth services
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a startup nonprofit environment
  • Leadership-level experience in nonprofit program design and implementation
  • Exposure to County agencies, higher education partners, and community leaders
  • Professional mentorship from the Founder & CEO
  • Letter of recommendation upon successful completion
  • Priority consideration for paid leadership roles as funding is secured
Time Commitment

10–15 hours per week | Hybrid (Mecklenburg County-based)
