Subassembly Technician

Schedule:
Monday - Thursday | 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 12:00 AM
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Pay Rate: $19.00 - 22.00/hr DOE
Responsibilities- Track all materials in accordance with correct work orders and production requirements.
- Maintain assigned equipment and ensure proper operational condition at all times.
- Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the dock and cleaning facility areas.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workplace in accordance with 5S standards.
- Receive subcomponents from disassembly (e.g., cylinder heads) for cleaning operations.
- Determine the most efficient cleaning process based on part size, material, and condition.
- Inspect parts for cracks or damage and accurately document findings.
- Segregate materials according to cleaning process status and work order requirements.
- Log time per job/work order manually or within computer-based systems.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail in all assigned tasks.
- Maintain reliability, responsibility, and dependability in daily work performance.
- Cooperate effectively with team members and demonstrate a positive, collaborative attitude.
- Work overtime as required to support production needs.
- Apply VPS / Lean principles to daily work activities.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two (2) years of related experience is a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of general machinery and shop equipment.
- Understanding of engine and/or transmission functionality preferred.
- Experience using basic hand tools, air tools, and torque equipment.
- Ability to operate general shop equipment, including cranes.
- Basic computer proficiency required.
- Experience with ERP systems (Visual, SAP, IFS, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with a willingness to learn and share knowledge.
- Self-motivated, punctual, able to work independently, and a strong team player.
- Ability to multitask and perform effectively under pressure.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle tools and equipment.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required for cleaning operations.
- Required to reach, bend, balance, crouch, and work in a production environment.
