Base pay range
$78,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr

Job Summary:
The Mechanical Lead Hand oversees shop floor staff, ensuring efficient workflow, quality, and safety compliance. Responsibilities include task coordination per the production schedule, providing technical support, troubleshooting, reporting daily progress, verifying attendance, and recommending personnel actions.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise, organize, and guide shop floor employees to ensure high productivity and adherence to work standards.
- Follow the production schedule closely and ensure tasks are completed in the correct sequence as directed by supervisors.
- Confirm all team members are using the most current assembly and fabrication drawings to maintain consistency and accuracy.
- Ensure work meets AVL quality standards and customer specifications throughout all phases of the assembly process.
- Verify and report daily attendance, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
- Provide daily updates on job progress to supervisors, highlighting any issues or delays.
- Offer on-the-floor technical guidance and assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
- Proactively seek clarification from supervisors or production engineers rather than making assumptions when issues arise.
- Step in to perform assembly work when required to help meet deadlines or resolve staffing short
- Promote and enforce a safe working environment in accordance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Proven experience in mechanical assembly and/or inspection.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions.
- Experience operating small cranes or robotic assembly equipment.
- Previous work in a manufacturing or mechanical production environment.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and assembly machinery.
- Basic knowledge of electrical connections and quality control processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift and position heavy parts with mechanical assistance.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety standards.
- Understanding of how this role impacts product and service quality.
- Commitment to producing high-quality work on time and within budget.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
