We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Director to join our growing team in Charlotte, NC. This role is well-suited for accomplished leaders with 10+ years of experience in strategic communications and public relations, providing them with the opportunity to actively contribute to the success of a dynamic and flourishing team. This role requires previous direct management of team members, a track record of effective delegation of work, and a basic understanding of business financials.
ClientManagement
- Serve as a client lead for current and incoming NP Strategy clients
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic communications initiatives - stakeholder identification, messaging, media relations, event planning, and integrated communications.
- Develop client-ready communications and deliverables
- Serve as a second pair of eyes on client documents in partnership with other team members
- Meet annual billable and collections goals
- Assist team members on the “NP Strategy way” for working successfully with clients
- Be flexible and willing to work after hours if needed for a client or team project goal
- Use your professional development money to either enhance your core skills or learn new skills
- Provide strategic business development advice to the team to generate new business leads and develop opportunities with existing clients
- Assist in the identification and pursuit of cross-selling opportunities, including conception of new projects and initiatives
- Develop working relationships with Maynard Nexsen attorneys to find ways to work together and cross-sell our services
- 10+ years of professional experience
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, political science, or a related field
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail
- Curious, proactive, and eager to learn in a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated interest in current events, policy, or media landscapes
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Drive, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Acrobat Pro a plus
- Willingness and ability to travel to serve clients and team members
