Pay Rate: $29
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, and
- Two years of professional experience in an Athletic Foundation, or an
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience , Skills, Training/Education
- Demonstrated ability to take primary responsibility for a diverse nature of projects and to complete them in a timely manner with limited supervision.
- Experience designing and developing materials independently and/or experience working with graphic designers.
- Broad knowledge of University Athletic programs, with preference given to individuals with academic degrees or experience in a Collegiate Athletic Program.
- Goal-oriented self-starter with high-attention to detail.
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, and ethics of fundraising.
- Ability to build effective internal and external relationships.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and outstanding writing ability.
- Commitment to collegial and collaborative team approach.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of multiple teams.
- Optimism, perseverance, and a positive attitude.
- Computer literacy and competency with electronic donor information systems, Adobe Creative Cloud products, Microsoft and Google suite of software products, project management software, and donor databases (PAC and Salesforce).

The Assistant Director of Special Projects will handle a broad and diverse range of responsibilities and assignments to support key special projects, development fundraising strategies and tactics for a variety of initiatives, and partner with all areas of Advancement and Athletics. Working in a collaborative team environment, the Assistant Director regularly meets with gift officers and University Advancement colleagues on project development and management to produce deliverables in support of fundraising goals.
In addition, the Assistant Director maintains comprehensive knowledge of the University's Athletic priorities and programs to actively align those with potential donors. The Assistant Director will interact at a high level with University leadership and volunteers and must embrace the opportunity to work as a collaborative partner with a variety of colleagues involved in advancing the University.
- Support the Executive Director of the Athletic Foundation in advancing strategic fundraising initiatives that align with University priorities.
- Prepare key administrative leaders and volunteers to interact with prospects and donors through the development of briefings, materials, and presentations needed to coordinate successful cultivation and solicitation of alumni and University friends.
- Lead the development and production of proposals that align with donors' interests, providing fundraising support to gift officers and Athletic priorities.
- Collaborate in the development of materials for Athletic campaigns and special projects with Athletic Communications and other partners.
- Assist with the implementation of comprehensive fundraising strategies.
- Provide support for the review and implementation of benefit structures for athletic donors.
- Maintain current knowledge of campus-wide and athletic-specific priorities.

Donor Relations/Stewardship Responsibilities- Support donor engagement opportunities for identified major and principal gift donors, serving as a project manager for select activities.
- Ensure timely communication with identified major and principal gift donors concerning successes, opportunities and updates on funded initiatives.
- Adhere to and monitor all memorandum of understandings and gift agreements for each identified major and principal gift through coordination of internal and external audiences, including Advancement colleagues, Athletic Leaders, and external key stakeholders.
- Record all activity in the CRM to provide consistent data on donor engagement and stewardship.
Percentage of Time: 30%

- Assist with key components of the Athletic Foundation, which include:
