Locations: Charlotte, NC / Jersey City, NJ / Chandler, AZ
Work arrangement: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Contract: 12-month contract
Pay Range: $35 - $38/hour; may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Job DescriptionManages diverse administrative functions usually for a large, complex department or business unit. Functions may include: financial control/budgeting and consolidation, personnel processes, audit/compliance, premises, and coordination of certain projects, associate training, service quality, process improvement, business continuity, or communication. May consult with senior management to define and manage projects that impact many associates. Requires thorough knowledge of the department or business unit s functional area or products.
Working knowledge of general bank policies, programs, and procedures, and financial/accounting practices. May have full management responsibility over a team or manage one level of managers.
Position Summary:
The Business Support Manager (BSM) will enable business operations and planning, including activities and routines to support communications, employee engagement, executive leadership routines, workforce and resource management, portfolio oversight, workspace governance, and organizational health. This role will plan and execute management routines, conferences, and other events, and develop and deliver communications. Work with leaders and subject-matter experts to write success stories, profiles, blogs, talking points, and web content.
The successful candidate must operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, adjusting to changing demands and moving with a sense of urgency. The role requires an ability to quickly understand the environment and connect the dots to optimize the business and employee experience.
- Supports and coordinates effective executive operating rhythms, overseeing the logistics, preparation of relevant materials, and talking points for SLT meetings, business reviews, off-sites, etc.
- Translate complex content into everyday language.
- BSM supports the day-to-day business operations of the technology organization.
- Supports business activities, including resource strategy, personnel processes, workspace governance, engagement activities, and communications.
- Assist Executives with the full range of engagements with peers, senior leaders, and business partners (as needed).
- Coordinate within aligned team(s) to ensure alignment with objectives and manage routines and requests.
- Deliver consistent communication and engagement plans for the executives and aligned team(s) supported.
- Understand the linkage of programs and projects to business strategy and portfolio priorities.
- 2 or more years of experience in business operations and management in a complex organization supporting senior leaders.
- Ability to work with and influence executive leadership and key partners to identify areas of opportunity and action plans focused on improving the employee experience.
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Creative thinking with the ability to translate concepts/ideas into tangible action plans.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written; ability to articulate complex concepts simply and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical, business management, and organizational skills with attention to sensitive information.
- Ability to think strategically across the organization to identify opportunities to improve performance and efficiency.
- Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proven ability to develop executive-ready communications and presentations that synthesize data and tell the story.
- Ability to develop comprehensive plans around key organizational priorities and ensure accountability across responsible parties.
- Desirable capabilities:
Analytical Thinking, Business Acumen, Executive Presence, Influence, Strategy Planning and Development, Project Management, Change Management, Conflict Management, Decision Making, Process Effectiveness, Resource / Workforce Management, Result Orientation, Stakeholder Management.
- Prior writing experience, communications, or journalism degree preferred.
- Experience handling multiple facets of an end-to-end business: financial management, project management, governance, operations, technology management, and executive routine coordination.
