Overview

SCIS is seeking an experienced Benefits Manager to lead our comprehensive benefits programs. This strategic role combines program design, vendor management, compliance oversight, and hands-on administration. You'll ensure our benefits portfolio is competitive, cost-effective, and fully compliant while serving as the go-to expert for employees and leadership.

What You'll Do
  • Design and manage our full benefits portfolio (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), and voluntary programs)
  • Lead annual open enrollment and benefits communication across multiple states
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, and all federal/state regulations
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and optimize cost and service quality
  • Oversee compliance documentation, audits, and regulatory filings
  • Analyze benefits data and provide strategic recommendations to leadership
  • Resolve complex employee benefits issues and develop engagement strategies
  • Evaluate industry trends and develop initiatives that balance satisfaction with cost control
What You Bring

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5-7 years managing benefits for 5,000+ employee organizations across multiple states
  • Experience with both fully outsourced and co-sourced benefits models
  • Deep knowledge of ACA, ERISA, and benefits regulatory compliance
  • Strong vendor management, cost control, and data analysis skills
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (advanced Excel required)
  • Excellent project management and communication skills

Preferred

  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain government security clearance
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation
  • Ability to travel to company office as needed
