Direct to manage oral, written, and physical activities for assigned retail stores to ensure alignment with organizational cultural values and that net performance provides satisfactory financial support for the organization by managing sales and production, controlling expenses and payroll budgets, handling personnel issues, accounting, merchandising, loss prevention, and development of team members.
Monitor, assess, and evaluate district performance through sales, expenses, production, inventory levels, and staffing.
Provide advice and counsel to managers on appropriate action plans and activities to meet operational and financial goals.
Work in conjunction with the Director, Store Operations to develop and implement annual budgets, objectives, and work plans.
Work cross-divisionally to ensure communication between all departments is clear and supports operational and organizational objectives.
Recruit and build high-performing teams and develop succession plans designed to achieve business needs and support organizational culture.
Implement strategies, policies, and standard operating procedures to maintain consistent and high levels of customer service, processing, safety, and security practices.
Work with the Visual Merchandising team to ensure all visual standards are maintained throughout the district.
Coordinate orientation, training, and coaching with management staff in coordination with Goodwill University to ensure workforce is properly trained and is current in required courses.
Partner with Loss Prevention Services to research and resolve any suspected or known theft or procedure violations in retail stores and donation centers.
Analyze market potential in current locations and new areas within our territory and make recommendations through a proposal format.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervise assigned Store Managers and provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these retail stores. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and budget development and management.
RequirementsEducation and/or
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field and seven years’ experience in increasingly responsible retail sales management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid Driver’s License (Class
C), car insurance and reliable automobile.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly (more than 2/3 of the day) required to sit. The employee frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the day) is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally (less than 1/3 of the day) required to walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Regular local travel required.
