The Facilities Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and upkeep tasks across Okuma's facilities. This includes cleaning, painting, and refurbishing machinery and components to ensure they meet operational and resale standards. This role plays a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment through equipment upkeep, facility repairs, and coordination with vendors.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
• Clean and repaint exchange unit components to ensure optimal appearance and functionality prior to reuse or resale.
• Perform painting of machines and components in designated paint booth.
• Inspect, clean, and refurbish machines for resale, including repainting worn parts.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Perform basic repairs and troubleshooting on facility infrastructure, including plumbing, electrical, and structural systems.
• Maintain and replace lighting fixtures as needed.
• Clean and maintain facility common areas, restrooms, and production spaces.
• Set up and break down for special events; manage storage of related materials.
• Inspect and maintain fire safety equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Support recycling and waste management initiatives.
• Assist in upkeep of utilities, grounds, and furnishings.
• Develop and maintain relationships with third-party service providers and contractors.
• Coordinate external maintenance and repair services as needed.
• Adheres to all company employment policies and safe practices
• Performs other duties as assigned and explores opportunities to add value
Experience/Training/Education
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in facilities or maintenance roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
General:
• Must effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
• Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude in all interactions with team members, vendors, and other departments.
Technical:
• Knowledge of spray equipment spray gun, sanders, drills, cutting tools
• Annual respirator fitting test
• Basic use of PC tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Communication:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as exceptional listening skills
• Exceptional ability to speak and write effectively in a business environment
• Exceptional ability to ask necessary questions
• Good Attitude, ability to work independently or with a team
Math & Reasoning:
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and willingness to adapt to change and take initiative
Physical and Environmental Elements
Physical Demands:
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, and reach with hands and arms for majority of the normal work shift
• Ability to lift and carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds
• Ability to talk or hear continuously
• Ability to see clearly to do all work-related tasks (clear or corrected vision at 20 inches or less)
• Ability to operate a vehicle and possess a valid driver's license
• Finger dexterity is required frequently for over 3/4 of the normal work shift including operating a phone, computer/ electronic equipment, tools, wire strippers, crimp tools, soldering iron, a pallet jack, and a forklift.
