Job Description
Contracts
- Prepare initial drafts of contracts for the purchase/sale of real estate
- Assist in the preparation, review, and execution of contracts, agreements, and legal documents related to commercial real estate development projects
- Monitoring PSA administration (dates/deadlines/earnest money)
Leasing
- Prepare initial lease drafts, incorporating business terms into standard lease template
- Monitoring lease administration (dates/deadlines)
Due Diligence
- Coordinate/analyze due diligence of properties (title, survey, environmental)
- Liaise with outside counsel
Legal Research
- Perform research on legal issues
- Develop legal arguments
- Discuss details of issues with General Counsel and company ownership
Corporate Organization
- Prepare operating agreements
- Administer the creation and organization of LLCs
Investor Relations
- Liaise with investors regarding organizational equity documentation
- Prepare secure notes and other investor documents
Closings
- Coordinate closing administration and documents
- Communicate with lenders regarding closing requirements
- Communicate with internal department leaders regarding closing requirements
Job Description Requirements/Skills
- Work Location:
In person – this is not a remote position. - Able to work productively in a diverse office environment
- Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 830am – 530pm with an hour lunch break, a minimum of 40 hrs./week - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, external parties, and legal professionals.
- Understanding of legal language and principles
- Organization skills and meticulous attention to detail required
- Ability to multi-task time-sensitive matters in fast-paced environment with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic team environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and good judgment
- Self-starter, possessing high degree of self-motivation
- Strategic – understands big picture, and importance of details to effectuate the big picture
- Associate degree in paralegal studies or related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel
- Related experience required (Suggested:
Prior experience (2+ years) working in a legal role, preferably in the real estate field or a related industry.) - Reports to General Counsel and company ownership
