Job Summary

The firm is seeking a First‑Party Property Coverage Attorney to join its Charlotte‑based practice. This role focuses on sophisticated first‑party property coverage matters from pre‑suit analysis through litigation. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful and motivated attorney who enjoys detailed policy analysis, strategic problem‑solving, and client interaction. This position is well suited for an attorney looking to deepen coverage expertise while working in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment with strong support and advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Handle first‑party property coverage matters at all stages, including pre‑suit analysis and litigation
  • Analyze insurance policies and evaluate coverage positions
  • Conduct examinations under oath and defend or take depositions
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and written discovery
  • Attend mediations, hearings, and other court proceedings
  • Assist with case strategy, evaluation, and resolution
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams
  • Maintain accurate billing and comply with reporting guidelines
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • Licensed and in good standing with the applicable state bar or ability to obtain licensure
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience handling first‑party property or coverage matters
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple matters
  • Collaborative, team‑first mindset
