Job SummaryThe firm is seeking a First‑Party Property Coverage Attorney to join its Charlotte‑based practice. This role focuses on sophisticated first‑party property coverage matters from pre‑suit analysis through litigation. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful and motivated attorney who enjoys detailed policy analysis, strategic problem‑solving, and client interaction. This position is well suited for an attorney looking to deepen coverage expertise while working in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment with strong support and advancement opportunities.
Responsibilities- Handle first‑party property coverage matters at all stages, including pre‑suit analysis and litigation
- Analyze insurance policies and evaluate coverage positions
- Conduct examinations under oath and defend or take depositions
- Draft pleadings, motions, and written discovery
- Attend mediations, hearings, and other court proceedings
- Assist with case strategy, evaluation, and resolution
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams
- Maintain accurate billing and comply with reporting guidelines
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing with the applicable state bar or ability to obtain licensure
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience handling first‑party property or coverage matters
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple matters
- Collaborative, team‑first mindset
- Competitive salary range of 120,000 to 180,000 depending on experience
