We are seeking a skilled litigation attorney with 3- 5 years of legal practice experience, preferably with a strong background in asbestos litigation across multiple jurisdictions, to join our legal team. This role will support the company’s asbestos legal portfolio and manage outside counsel. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced corporate environment, and demonstrate sound judgment, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Manage and oversee a portfolio of litigation matters, with a primary focus on asbestos cases.
- Collaborate with and supervise outside counsel to develop litigation strategies, review pleadings, and monitor case progress.
- Conduct legal research and provide internal guidance on litigation risks and mitigation strategies.
- Respond to subpoenas, discovery requests, and other litigation-related inquiries.
- Maintain accurate and current case files, reports, and litigation databases.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather information and support litigation responses.
- Stay informed on legal developments and trends in asbestos and related litigation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Experience handling asbestos litigation in multiple jurisdictions (MI, PA, WV, IL).
- Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines effectively.
- Familiarity with case management systems and legal research tools.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, writing and interpersonal communication skills.
- Professional presence and ability to interact with senior leadership.
- Experience working in or with corporate legal departments is a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in the U.S.
- 3–5 years of litigation experience, preferably in asbestos litigation.
