Associate Attorney

Smith Debnam () is seeking candidates for a full-time litigation associate position to assist in the representation of Creditors' Rights in consumer matters.

The Following Are Prerequisites For This Position

• Minimum of one year’s experience in litigation in private practice
• Handle substantial case volume with minimal supervision
• Handle hearings, trials and other matters in various jurisdictions throughout SC (and NC as licensing allows)
• Manage staff effectively in support of practice with an understanding of the business aspects of managing an efficient law practice
• Negotiate effective settlements and case resolution on behalf of clients
• Live/work out of Charlotte area in NC

Ideal Candidate’s Experience Will Include

• Dual licensed in SC and NC
• Three years’ practice experience representing creditors in state court
• Preference for in-office work environment in a collegial culture

This position requires being regularly present in our Charlotte NC office, except when travelling to court appearances across the state (estimated court travel requirement of 20% to 40%).
