Corporate Associate M&A

Overview

Moore & Van Allen's Charlotte office is seeking a mid-level Associate to join its Corporate practice group. This group represents both public and privately owned companies in a variety of corporate, transaction, commercial, and general business matters. This opening is for a position with a focus on the transactional/mergers and acquisitions aspect of the group.

The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of M&A experience with strong deal flow, including experience independently managing junior associates, overseeing and performing due diligence work streams, and handling ancillary document production and negotiation. They would also be expected to play a key role in drafting and negotiating aspects of primary transaction documentation. A strong business background and the ability to quickly grasp business concepts are highly valued.

The candidate will be engaged in a wide variety of M&A and corporate projects for both sponsor and strategic clients and will have significant client contact, providing pragmatic counsel. Candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management and prioritization skills, a willingness to ask questions and learn, and a desire to work in a team-oriented environment. Regular office attendance required.

The role focuses on transactional/M&A work within the Corporate practice group, including drafting and negotiating primary transaction documents, managing due diligence work streams, and supporting senior attorneys in client engagements. The attorney will handle day-to-day matters with guidance as appropriate and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
