Paralegal Manager - Family-Based Immigration
The Family-Based Immigration Paralegal Manager oversees a team of paralegals while maintaining a personal caseload. This role blends hands‑on casework, case management, and team leadership to ensure high‑quality legal services, consistent processes, and an excellent client experience. The Paralegal Manager plays a critical role in supporting attorneys, guiding paralegals, and ensuring matters move efficiently and accurately from intake through resolution.
This position is hybrid, with an expectation of working in the office at least three days per week and the option to work remotely up to two days per week.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe family‑based immigration Paralegal Manager manages a personal caseload of complex family‑based immigration matters, including petitions, applications, and related filings. Responsibilities include preparing cases for attorney review, drafting client correspondence, assembling complete and accurate filings, and tracking deadlines to ensure compliance with applicable requirements and firm standards.
In addition to hands‑on casework, the Paralegal Manager oversees case workflow and quality control for the team. This includes opening and assigning cases, monitoring deadlines and task completion, and reviewing cases to ensure they are accurate, complete, and ready for filing. The role requires close attention to detail and the ability to anticipate next steps to prevent delays and issues.
Client service is a core focus of this position. The Paralegal Manager communicates proactively with family‑based immigration clients, resolves case‑related issues, and ensures clients understand timelines, requirements, and next steps. This role involves building and maintaining professional, client‑centered relationships and supporting a positive client experience throughout the life of each case.
The Paralegal Manager supervises, mentors, and supports paralegals, promoting consistent work quality, collaboration, and professional growth. This includes providing guidance on case preparation, answering procedural questions, and helping team members develop their skills and confidence. The role contributes to a positive, high‑performing team environment where expectations are clear and support is readily available.
The Paralegal Manager also contributes to firm best practices by ensuring adherence to service and quality standards, preparing reports, reviewing correspondence and invoices, maintaining case status tracking, and identifying opportunities to improve processes, templates, and workflows.
Qualifications- Five or more years of family‑based immigration paralegal experience required
- Two or more years of experience supervising or mentoring paralegals or legal staff strongly preferred
- Spanish language skills strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
