Family Law Attorney

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Divorce / Family Law Attorney to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law litigation and negotiation, with the ability to manage cases involving divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and related family law matters. This role requires excellent legal judgment, client advocacy skills, and the ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and empathy.

• Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, custody, visitation, child support, spousal support, and property division
• Manage cases from intake through resolution, including litigation, mediation, and settlement negotiations
• Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, and court filings
• Conduct and respond to discovery, including depositions, subpoenas, and document review
• Appear in court for hearings, trials, mediations, and conferences
• Provide clear legal advice and maintain regular communication with clients
• Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys to ensure effective case management
• Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with all court rules and deadlines
• Stay current on changes in family law statutes, case law, and procedural rules

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active license and good standing with the State Bar of North Carolina
• Minimum 2+ years of experience practicing family law (divorce-focused experience preferred)
• Strong litigation, negotiation, and advocacy skills
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities
• Ability to manage a full caseload independently
• Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and client-service skills
