Job Title: Insurance Defense Attorney

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Remote/Hybrid)

Position Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Insurance Defense Attorney to join our Charlotte team. This role provides hands‑on experience in all phases of civil litigation, from case inception through trial, with direct client interaction. You will work closely with paralegals and legal assistants, managing cases efficiently while maintaining high standards of legal excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle all aspects of civil litigation, including case assessment, strategy development, and trial preparation
  • Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and recommendations
  • Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as necessary
  • Prepare discovery responses and manage document production
  • Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing detailed reports
  • Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial as needed
  • Maintain regular communication with paralegals, legal assistants, and clients
Qualifications
  • 2-10 years of experience in insurance coverage litigation or relevant legal practice
  • Licensed to practice law in North or South Carolina
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) or equivalent
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management systems
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and efficiently
