We are seeking a skilled Language Specialist to join our team in the Tokyo Office on a 12-month contract basis, with a focus on the Spanish (Spain) language. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing language assets' logic and coherence, grammar and punctuation, spelling, consistency, style, language usage, and formatting, improving customer streaming experience with Amazon language solutions. Tasks may include proofreading and editing subtitles, metadata, and a variety of other written communications.
IMPORTANT:
This is not a remote position, you are required to work on site. Open to Spanish applicants expected to work from the Tokyo Office.
- Conduct Linguistic Quality Assurance checks on audio, subtitles, narratives, video, and artwork to ensure overall content quality
- Support the implementation of language-related processes to ensure consistency and quality of Spanish language services
- Collaborate with team members to understand language requirements and deliver quality results
- Stay current with best practices in language services, particularly related to the streaming and entertainment industry
- Contribute to the improvement of language processes and workflows
- Share knowledge and support other team members on Spanish language-related matters
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
- Native level proficiency in Spanish (Spain) and fluency in English
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with moderate guidance
- Experience providing Spanish Linguistic Quality Assurance services, including translation or linguistic support
- Translation or proofreading experience in various formats, including documents and timed texts
- Interest in the media and entertainment industry, particularly streaming services
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
