Core Responsibilities
1. Manages and leads the development of model governance policies, controls, and validation processes. Leverages deep statistical and coding knowledge to conduct analyses to determine risk, defective models, or model misuse.
2. Oversees the review, independent testing, and validation of all internal risk models prior to implementation, and throughout the lifecycle. Reviews models and code in partnership with Data Scientists.
3. Ensures appropriate internal controls, review, maintenance, and reporting is applied to data and statistical models used across the enterprise.
4. Oversees the analysis and reporting on data sets for a particular area to evaluate, recommend and support the implementation of business strategies and operational processes.
5. Continually develops understanding of industry trends in model governance, and how statistical models are developed and integrated into business processes and provides updates to the team to build business acumen. Champions change management efforts and advocates to ensure implementation of model governance practices.
6. Engages with internal stakeholders to understand and probe business processes in order to develop hypotheses. Brings structure to requests and translates requirements into an analytic approach. Makes recommendations to key business partners or senior management as needed.
7. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum of eight years related work experience, with at least four years of model governance experience.
