Corner Stone Technology Talent Services (TTS) is partnering with enterprise financial technology teams to identify a senior-level Solutions Architect who thrives at the intersection of business strategy, complex payment systems, and scalable architecture
. This role is ideal for an architect who enjoys shaping platforms that move money at scale and can translate complex financial workflows into resilient, future-ready solutions.
This is a long-term contract opportunity supporting large-scale financial systems with significant architectural influence and runway.
Hybrid | Charlotte, NC (3 days onsite) What You'll Be DoingAs a Solutions Architect, you will define and drive solution architecture across complex financial domains, partnering closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
You will:
- Own architectural vision and solution design aligned to enterprise strategy, platform standards, and long-term scalability
- Translate business needs into clear solution intent, system boundaries, and integration patterns
- Design modular, adaptable architectures that evolve with changing regulatory, operational, and product requirements
- Lead early-stage architecture shaping while guiding teams as requirements mature
- Partner with Product Managers and Owners to prioritize architecture runway and technology-focused backlog items
- Evaluate design tradeoffs and the downstream impact of architectural decisions
- Conduct design reviews to ensure non-functional requirements are met, including security, performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and operationally sound
- Contribute to automation, shared services, and reusable platform capabilities across the enterprise
This role is best suited for architects with deep financial services and payments domain experience
, who are comfortable navigating complex ecosystems and influencing at scale.
Required experience:
- 10+ years designing and delivering technology solutions within financial services environments
- Strong architectural background across financial applications, middleware, and databases
- Proven experience translating complex technical concepts into multiple architectural views for diverse audiences
- Ability to lead architecture discussions across business, product, and engineering teams
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset
- Experience working within Agile and Waterfall delivery models
Experience across one or more of the following areas will strongly differentiate candidates:
- Payments (domestic, cross-border, real-time, high/low value)
- Liquidity management and treasury services
- Receivables, lockbox, and account analysis/billing
- Trade and supply chain finance
- Commercial card platforms
Hands-on or architectural exposure to payment rails, standards, and ecosystems such as:
- ACH, Fedwire, NACHA, CHIPS, SEPA, SWIFT
- Real-time and instant payments, RTGS
- ISO 20022, FX payments, B2B and B2C flows
Familiarity with enterprise payment platforms and tools is a strong plus, including but not limited to:
- ACI, Finastra/Fund Tech, FIS/Clear2
Pay, Infosys Finacle, Oracle Flexcube - Modern payment orchestration and clearing frameworks
