Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver enterprise abstractions, automation frameworks, and declarative interoperability capabilities for Truist's next-generation software delivery ecosystem.
  • Build reusable platform services and establish manifest-driven, policy-as-code, orchestration, and lifecycle automation foundations to enable teams to integrate, deliver, and operate software with consistency, resilience, and auditability.
  • Apply a software engineering mindset to platform problems, build scalable internal products, and create connective tissue to unify federated engineering teams.
  • Establish and evolve interoperability patterns (automated change controls, standardized integration contracts, golden-path onboarding, asset lifecycle intelligence, CI/CD abstraction layers, and cross-platform agentic automation).
  • Turn platform capabilities into consumable products, reduce cognitive load for engineers, and enable a fully integrated ecosystem with clear contracts, automated governance, and platform-led consistency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform problem tracking, diagnosis, root-cause analysis, replication, troubleshooting, and resolution for highly complex issues.
  • Oversee others who perform programming and debugging activities.
  • Respond to issues in a timely manner by investigating incidents or service tickets.
  • Provide technical consultation on challenging or unusual situations.
  • Lead large, complex projects related to improving processes or support capabilities; may engage external vendors.
  • Interpret internal/external business challenges and recommend best practices.
  • Mentor less experienced teammates to build technical expertise; may have people management responsibilities.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and eight years of experience in development or production support, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Deep specialized and/or broad functional knowledge; ability to interpret business challenges and recommend best practices.
  • Ability to lead complex projects and solve complex technical and business problems; sophisticated analytical skills.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders to adopt new perspectives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field; 10+ years of experience building cloud-native platforms, automation frameworks, or distributed systems at enterprise scale.
  • Strong hands-on programming experience in Java, Python, Node.js/Type Script.
  • Expertise in modern API design and interoperability standards (RESTful, gRPC, OpenAPI/Swagger, protobuf); API governance, authentication/authorization patterns, policy enforcement, and security practices.
  • Advanced data access and persistence experience (Postgre

    SQL, MySQL, SQL Server; Mongo

    DB, Dynamo

    DB, Cosmos DB); schema migration tooling; performance optimization.
  • Experience with messaging, streaming, event-driven patterns (Kafka, Rabbit

    MQ, SQS/SNS, Azure Service Bus); event-driven architectures, schemas, and semantic delivery guarantees.
  • Platform-grade resiliency and reliability engineering concepts; observability and telemetry (Open Telemetry, Prometheus/Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace); defined SLIs/SLOs and runbooks.
  • Cloud, runtime, and platform orchestration expertise (Open Shift, Kubernetes, AWS); multi-tenant architectures and service mesh interoperability.
  • Advanced testing expertise (unit, integration, contract, UI testing); security scanning; CI pipelines; test data management.
  • Modern frontend engineering experience (Type Script/React, Angular, or Vue) is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to operate as a platform engineer and interoperability architect across platform, product, and security domains.
