Overview

The Chief Delivery Officer (CDO) is responsible for end-to-end delivery excellence across platform implementations, client engagements, and ongoing service operations. This executive role owns the execution, scalability, and predictability of delivering complex technology solutions to clients, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, and at the highest quality standards.

The CDO partners closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and executive leadership to translate strategy into consistent, measurable delivery results while maintaining strong client outcomes and operational discipline.

Key Responsibilities Delivery & Execution Leadership
  • Own end-to-end delivery of all client implementations, upgrades, integrations, and managed services.
  • Ensure consistent, predictable execution across complex, multi-workstream client engagements.
  • Establish delivery standards, methodologies, and governance frameworks across all engagements.
Client Outcomes & Accountability
  • Serve as executive escalation point for critical client delivery matters.
  • Ensure delivery commitments align with client expectations, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive high levels of client satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnership value.
Operating Model & Scale
  • Design and evolve the delivery operating model to support growth, efficiency, and margin expansion.
  • Standardize delivery frameworks, tools, metrics, and reporting across teams.
  • Balance customization requirements with platform scalability and repeatability.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to align roadmaps with delivery capacity and client commitments.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Pre-Sales to ensure accurate scoping, realistic timelines, and delivery assumptions.
  • Work with Customer Success to ensure smooth handoffs from implementation to steady-state operations.
Risk, Governance & Compliance
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate delivery risks, dependencies, and resource constraints.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory, security, and compliance expectations common in enterprise and financial services environments.
  • Implement executive-level reporting and delivery health dashboards.
People & Culture
  • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing delivery leaders and teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive talent development, succession planning, and organizational maturity.
Key Metrics & Outcomes
  • On-time and on-budget delivery performance
  • Client satisfaction (CSAT / NPS)
  • Delivery margin and cost predictability
  • Implementation cycle time and throughput
  • Escalation frequency and resolution effectiveness
  • Team utilization, engagement, and retention
Qualifications & Experience
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in delivery, operations, or program management within enterprise technology, fintech, financial services, or SaaS environments.
  • Proven track record delivering complex, regulated, or mission-critical platforms to enterprise clients.
  • Experience scaling delivery organizations in a high-growth environment

  • Strong understanding of delivery governance, risk management, and operational metrics.
  • Executive-level communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and clients.
  • Experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering teams in a platform-based operating model.
