Overview

Akkodis is seeking an Agile Release Train Engineer with a client in Charlotte, NC
. Ideally, we are looking for Agile coach with some expertise with hands on RTE experience for day-to-day operation, so we like to see candidates with this background to interview.

Pay Range: $92-$95/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Responsibilities

This role is responsible for optimizing the flow of epics/features and the value delivered by a smaller Agile Release Train (ART) and is focused on serving the needs of the train to drive performance and growth. Key responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating the ART ceremonies, managing dependencies across teams in the ART, and providing visibility into the health of epic/feature delivery and the overall program increment.

This role ensures impediments to epic/feature delivery are resolved quickly and protects the teams from outside disruptions to delivery.

Primary Skill: Agile tools (Jira)

Secondary Skill: Agile Coach

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Guide and coach the teams on the Agile Release Train on Scrum practices, and develop their understanding of Agile principles.

Help define norms/agreements for the ART and enforce the agreements.

Coordinate and facilitate ART ceremonies (for example, Backlog Refinement, Program Increment (PI) Planning, ART Sync or PO Sync, Scrum of Scrums), System Demos, and Retrospective.

In collaboration with the Product Manager, ensure the program has a healthy product/program backlog.

Facilitate dependency management/risk management/impediment removal for the ART.

Promote/facilitate communication and collaboration within the ART to support value delivery and PI commitments.

Responsible for providing status updates and reporting pertaining to ART plans/delivery/timelines/impediments to stakeholders and leadership.

Ensure Enterprise Change Management and other policy requirements for technology solutions are met for the epics/features delivered by the ART.

Measure ART delivery, maturity, and performance and review the metrics with the ART to identify improvement opportunities.

Capture data to help determine/track product funding and resource acquisition needs.

SAFe Certification (RTE, SCP, SSM or POPM)

  • Proficiency in Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence) and Horizon CI/CD Tools
  • Preferred skills/experience
    • Risk, Issue and Dependency Management
    • Promote engineering fundamentals - design, quality, testing, and technical debt visibility.
    • Familiarity/Experience with MRA process is preferred.
    • Experience with Change governance process.
    Overview of the work being done

    Host quarterly PI planning and ensure readiness

    Maintain backlog health and adherence to Enterprise Change Management standards

    Own end-to-end delivery execution of epics and capabilities across multiple ARTs and teams.

    Drive predictable delivery through flow metrics, capacity planning, dependency mapping, and risk management.

    Evaluate team metrics, goals, and performance

    Coach Scrum Masters on Agile delivery, executive-level reporting, and communication

    Expert-level Agile knowledge, including dashboards, roadmaps, Jira usage, and dependency management

    Operate with a mindset of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
