Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte NJ $130k - $134k/year & benefits (see below).

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler with a strong background in Capital Markets to design, develop, and maintain data models that support our trading, risk management, and compliance operations. The ideal candidate will possess deep domain knowledge in capital markets instruments, transactions, and workflows, and be able to translate complex business requirements into effective data models that underpin analytics, reporting, and data integration efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Stewards, and Stakeholders to understand capital markets processes, instruments, and data needs.
  • Develop logical, physical, and conceptual data models aligned with business requirements and enterprise standards.
  • Design data schemas for core capital markets data domains, including securities, trades, positions, pricing, and risk metrics.
  • Ensure data models support high data quality, consistency, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Analyze source systems and design mappings for data integration and migration projects.
  • Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Document data architecture, data flows, and model designs clearly for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, data modeling best practices, and compliance/regulatory changes impacting capital markets data.
  • Support data governance initiatives and enforce data standards and best practices.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
  • eEperience in data modeling, database design, or data architecture, preferably in capital markets.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets instruments such as equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX, and related transaction data.
  • Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, Power Designer, ERwin).
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of trading systems, risk management, and compliance data requirements.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data querying languages.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks impacting data (e.g., MiFID II, Dodd-Frank).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to bridge technical and business domains.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
