Linux Systems Engineer | Financial Services | $150k | Charlotte, NC
Location: Charlotte, NC
Role OverviewWe are seeking a Linux Systems Engineer with strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux
, Ansible automation
, and container orchestration
. This position will focus on managing enterprise Linux environments, automating operational tasks, and deploying scalable applications using Open Shift across hybrid cloud platforms.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in automation, configuration management, and cloud integration, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Administer and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems in hybrid cloud environments.
- Develop and manage Ansible playbooks for configuration management, provisioning, and orchestration.
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications on Open Shift
. - Collaborate with Dev Ops and cloud teams to integrate deployment pipelines.
- Monitor system performance, ensure compliance, and implement best practices for scalability and reliability.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting and infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support disaster recovery planning, patch management, and system upgrades.
Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Linux system administration
, with a focus on Red Hat technologies
. - Strong hands-on experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
- Proficiency in deploying and managing applications on Red Hat Linux & Open Shift
. - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with containerization, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Scripting skills in Bash
, Python
, or similar languages. - Knowledge of Git, Jenkins, and other Dev Ops tools.
- Red Hat certifications (RHCE, RHCSA) preferred but not required.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Logic Monitor, Cribl).
- Understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards (CIS, NIST).
- Examples of automation and configuration management projects (industry experience outside financial services is acceptable).
