Lead Data/Reporting Analyst (Executive Tableau Reporting) –

The vision of the Enterprise Resilience Office (ERO) is to enable Vanguard to stay open and serve our clients in any scenario, no matter what happens in the physical, digital, financial, and extended enterprise worlds, through operational resiliency planning, independent points of view on preparedness, and continuous improvement. ERO is critical to maintaining Vanguard’s essential business services, determining the scenario likely to disrupt those services, and ensuring readiness.
ERO’s three primary focus areas are:
- Business Continuity – overseeing crisis management and incident response.
- Technology Risk Management – providing risk advisory support to IT and improving Vanguard’s ability to recover from a cyberattack.
- Third‑Party Risk Management – stewarding the third‑party risk lifecycle and reducing extended enterprise risk.
The Lead Data/Reporting Analyst is vital to accomplishing ERO’s mission and vision. The Analyst analyzes data, assesses trends, and develops actionable insights and recommendations to support large strategic initiatives. The Analyst actively develops the analytics community at Vanguard by coaching internally and participating in external events.
Core Responsibilities- Engage with internal partners to understand business strategy, questions, and goals. Structure business requests, gather and define requirements, translate requirements into an analytical project approach, and lead complex projects through completion. Delegate tasks and provide tactical and strategic guidance to peers. Serve as the analytics expert on cross‑functional teams for large strategic initiatives.
- Define and engage in developing Data Strategy Vision, Mission, and Roadmap for the Data Analytics team.
- Possess a holistic understanding of data warehousing and participate in BI and data architecture discussions and consultation.
- Define the project’s schedule and scope with timely and regular value deliveries, organize and lead projects, and conduct project status meetings.
- Drive and deliver Agile projects that offer outstanding business value to the users.
- Acquire and compile structured and unstructured data, verify its quality, accuracy, and reasonableness.
- Turn raw data into information and insight, which will be used to make business decisions.
- Perform analysis of historical data to surface trends and insights using advanced analytical methods. Validate analytical techniques employed by other analysts.
- Prepare and deliver expert‑level visualizations and internal presentations that translate analytic insights into tangible, actionable solutions for business partners to implement.
- Develop, own, and manage recurring analytic or reporting processes.
- Mentor, coach, and connect others with resources and training. Participate and present during scheduled analytics seminars.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
- Excellent data storytelling and presentation skills (through PowerPoint, etc.).
- SQL and Python coding proficiency.
- Expert‑level proficiency with Tableau.
- Tableau Certified Data Analyst (required).
- Excellent stakeholder management, preferably interacting with senior executive leadership.
- Risk domain knowledge (nice to have).
- AWS cloud experience (nice to have).
- Minimum of eight years of related work experience.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
