Job SummaryThe Therapeutic Area Analytics & Insights Director - Hematology/Oncology (Heme) in Data, Analytics, and AI is a strategic advisor to key stakeholders and an integral contributor to Genentech’s Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs (CMG) planning efforts. This individual is responsible for developing or supporting the delivery of actionable insights and strategic recommendations to inform timely and critical business decisions in specific therapeutic areas.
This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs, conducting targeted analyses to uncover tailored insights, and synthesizing findings into strategic options aligned with organizational goals. This work will guide decisions that affect in‑line, pipeline, and business development assets. This individual is responsible for providing strategic recommendations with minimal guidance or supervision, leveraging their capabilities. He/she may also manage 1–2 individual contributors, providing coaching and oversight.
The Director works flexibly within a matrix structure, sensing business priorities and reprioritizing work to meet organizational objectives. By embedding analytics products into workflows and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, this role plays a pivotal part in enhancing analytical capabilities and supporting the strategic direction of the enterprise.
Advise stakeholders to define clear, impactful business priorities within Hematology/Oncology, and develop action plans. Develop strategic options and recommendations by synthesizing findings, connecting insights across therapeutic areas or analytic domains, and aligning them with organizational goals.
Demonstrate mastery in tailoring communication to specific audiences, communicating and influencing senior leaders and simplifying details for stakeholder buy‑in.
Translate strategic vision into actionable insights by leveraging a strong analytical background and deep subject matter expertise in respective domain(s), with a focus on Hematology/Oncology to ensure successful execution of initiatives across teams and functions.
Sense business needs through stakeholder interactions, drive towards outcomes through high degrees of uncertainty, and lead cross‑functional teams to achieve business outcomes.
Catalyze and entrench new solutions and ways of working into the business.
Collaborate with stakeholders to deeply understand business needs, key questions, and priorities, and ensure alignment with project objectives and analytic lead direction.
Perform custom analyses by applying appropriate analytic techniques to address business challenges.
Demonstrate leadership through pro‑active, informal coaching and mentorship of analysts across the team.
