Procurement Category Manager – Technology

Job Overview

The Procurement Category Manager – Technology partners with the Technology organization to source, negotiate and manage information technology spend across the enterprise. The role focuses on maximizing savings, mitigating risk and ensuring compliance while collaborating with technical leaders and business partners.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute category strategies for key technology categories (cloud, end‑user, network, services).
  • Forecast demand, consolidate requirements and drive scale in supplier negotiations.
  • Lead the end‑to‑end sourcing process: draft RFPs/RFIs, manage vendor communications and analyze submissions.
  • Conduct high‑stakes commercial and legal negotiations for enterprise licensing agreements and long‑term service contracts.
  • Manage the technology contract portfolio: renewals, amendments, terminations and ensure timely execution.
  • Maintain KPIs and SLAs for critical technology suppliers and drive performance reviews.
  • Work closely with Legal, IT Security and the Technology leadership team to ensure contract compliance with data privacy, security and intellectual property standards.
  • Act as the primary interface between Procurement and Technology leaders, ensuring alignment on strategy and budget goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the procure‑to‑pay process for technology, leveraging tools such as Ariba or Service Now.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field.
  • 5+ years of procurement experience, with at least 3 years focused on technology categories.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and collaborate with technology leaders.
  • High level of integrity and professional accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of complex software licensing models (perpetual, subscription, consumption‑based).
  • Proven track record of managing and negotiating large, multi‑year IT contracts.
  • Experience with financial analysis, spend reporting and total cost of ownership modeling.
  • CSP certification (or equivalent) preferred.
