Data Engineer
DATA ENGINEER (HYBRID – CHARLOTTE, NC)
Compass Digital, a digital and technology arm of Compass Group North America, is seeking a hands‑on, collaborative Data Engineer to build and troubleshoot data ingestion pipelines and support business intelligence efforts.
Job SummaryAs a Data Engineer in the Data Services team, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for multiple data sources, collaborate closely with business intelligence and reporting teams, and contribute to a migration to Snowflake.
Responsibilities- Build data pipelines for specified projects and requests in partnership with data analysts.
- Define, build, test, and implement scalable pipelines using Python and SQL.
- Monitor pipeline performance and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot data-related issues, including missing data and quality concerns.
- Develop data models that feed business intelligence tools.
- Maintain code via CI/CD processes on Azure Dev Ops.
- 3‑5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Excellent communication skills and openness to learning new technologies.
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python; experience with Spark is a bonus.
- Experience with Airflow or similar workflow orchestration system.
- Experience with a public cloud provider, preferably AWS.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Snowflake, and CI/CD (bonus).
