Position: APM Engineer – Application Performance & Monitoring

APM Engineer II – Application Performance & Monitoring (Onsite)

Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite)
Type: Contract to Hire

We’re looking for an experienced APM Engineer II to support our enterprise monitoring strategy across AWS and on-prem environments. You’ll work with tools like Dynatrace, Zabbix, Pager Duty, and Alertbot
, partnering with Application, Middleware, and Infrastructure teams to improve system performance, automation, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and maintain Dynatrace, Zabbix, Pager Duty, Alertbot
    .

  • Define alert thresholds and manage daily monitoring operations (health checks, logs, alerts).

  • Use Dynatrace DQL, APIs, AIOps
    , and develop custom extensions.

  • Support AWS monitoring including Cloud Watch and ECS
    .

  • Build custom monitoring scripts and enhance automation.

  • Participate in incident calls and troubleshooting.

  • Apply patches, upgrades, and maintain monitoring infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with IT teams to analyze issues and deliver sustainable solutions.

  • Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Manage tasks independently, maintain documentation, and identify automation opportunities.

Skills & Qualifications
  • 8+ years as a Performance/APM Engineer
    .

  • Expertise with Zabbix, Dynatrace, Alertbot, Foglight
    .

  • Experience with AWS, Cloud Watch, YAML, Shell scripting, Power Shell
    .

  • Knowledge of DB concepts, microservices
    , and backup/recovery processes.

  • Experience with Azure Dev Ops for PBIs
    .

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
    .

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent experience
    .
