About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR and Benefits Associate to join our team. This role will support a variety of human resources functions, with a strong focus on benefits administration, employee support, and HR operations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities.

Primary Responsibilities Onboarding & Offer Support
  • Draft and send offer letters, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
  • Coordinate onboarding activities by partnering with hiring managers, payroll, IT, and training teams
  • Ensure all compliance forms (including I-9) are completed accurately and on time
  • Prepare welcome announcements and materials for new hires
  • Provide benefits overview and enrollment assistance for new employees
HR Administration & Compliance
  • Maintain employee data in the HRIS system, including new hires, job changes, promotions, and terminations
  • Administer and track leaves of absence, unemployment claims, and workers’ compensation
  • Ensure employee files are accurate, complete, and compliant with recordkeeping requirements
  • Partner with payroll and recruiting teams to ensure seamless processing of employee changes
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
Benefits Administration
  • Educate employees on benefit offerings during onboarding and open enrollment
  • Process benefit elections, changes, and terminations
  • Assist employees with benefit claims, coverage questions, and issue resolution
  • Manage and support 401(k) plan administration
  • Coordinate employee wellness initiatives (EAP, fitness incentives, flu shot clinics, etc.)
  • Support benefits audits, reporting, and annual filings (including 5500s)
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and other applicable regulations
  • Administer day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA, HSA, COBRA, wellness programs)
HRIS (UKG) & Reporting
  • Maintain employee records in UKG, ensuring accuracy across personal, employment, and organizational data
  • Process employee transactions in UKG in a timely and compliant manner
  • Perform regular data audits and troubleshoot discrepancies
  • Generate and distribute HR reports from UKG to support compliance, leadership insights, and HR projects
  • Collaborate with payroll and HR teams to ensure system alignment and accuracy
Employee Experience & Support
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions about HR policies and benefits
  • Provide guidance and support for performance management processes and annual reviews
  • Coordinate employee recognition programs, including tenure and milestone celebrations
  • Draft HR communications and organizational announcements
Qualifications
  • 3–6 years of HR experience with emphasis in benefits, compliance, or HR operations
  • Hands-on experience with UKG HRIS strongly preferred
  • Strong background in onboarding, benefits, leave administration, and employee support
  • Experience with HRIS systems and proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Office 365
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and solution-driven mindset
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (preferred)
What to expect
  • Full-time, Monday through Friday
  • Hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC (3 days in-office, 2 remote)
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Standard office work environment, including extended periods at a computer; occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.
