The Senior Director, Human Resources Business Partner provides enterprise-level HR leadership by leading a team of HR Directors, HRBPs, and HR professionals in partnership with the Vice President, HRBP. This role is responsible for shaping and executing the HRBP annual and long-term strategy in alignment with business priorities, organizational goals, and our purpose-driven culture.
The Senior Director HRBP serves as a trusted strategic advisor to senior leaders, coaching and challenging leadership teams on critical people decisions while overseeing the full HR lifecycle, including workforce planning, talent management, organizational design, and change management. The role ensures consistent and effective execution of employee relations strategies, promotes fair and equitable treatment of teammates, and mitigates organizational risk through sound judgment and compliance with employment laws and policies.
This position partners closely with HR Centers of Excellence and cross-functional business leaders to deliver scalable, data-driven HR solutions that enhance organizational performance and leader capability across assigned client groups.
Duties & Responsibilities- Lead, develop, and mentor a team of HR leaders and professionals, fostering a One Team mindset and building trusted advisors to business leadership.
- Partner with executive and senior leaders across multiple locations and geographies to align people strategies with business priorities and enterprise goals.
- Provide strategic HR leadership across diverse, multi-site operations, including field and corporate environments, with regular travel to support business needs and on-site engagement.
- Oversee and drive key HR programs, including employee engagement, workforce planning, compensation planning, talent development, and succession planning.
- Develop and execute employee relations strategies that promote a positive, compliant, and inclusive work environment while mitigating organizational risk.
- Lead and oversee complex employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and terminations, ensuring consistency and legal compliance across locations.
- Utilize people data and analytics to inform decision-making, identify trends, and drive performance improvement across client groups.
- Collaborate closely with HR Centers of Excellence and cross-functional partners to implement change initiatives, enhance processes, and improve operational effectiveness.
- Be representative of our organizational values and inclusive leadership, influencing culture and engagement across geographically dispersed teams.
- Participate in enterprise initiatives, committees, and task forces focused on organizational design, change management, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leaders across multiple regions, business units, or operating environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to support field locations, build relationships, and address business and employee needs.
- Strong knowledge of HR programs, employee relations, and employment law, with the ability to apply practices consistently across jurisdictions.
- Strategic, business-focused leader with the ability to operate both at an enterprise level and hands-on when needed.
- Proven ability to influence, coach, and challenge leaders with sound judgment and credibility.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Effective change and project management skills; capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive culture and leading teams across locations and geographies.
- Requires up to 20–30% travel, including visits to field locations, facilities, and customer-facing environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage, align, and inspire stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Minimum 5-7+ years of progressive leadership experience, including direct leadership of HR teams supporting multi-location and geographically dispersed operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Valid Driver’s License
- BA in Human Resources or Business Preferred
- PHR/SPHR or CP/SCP Preferred
