Overview

As a Materials Coordinator
, you play a vital behind-the-scenes role in patient care by ensuring our clinical teams have the supplies and equipment they need—every day, without interruption. This is an entry-level, hands-on role ideal for someone looking to start a career in healthcare, learn hospital operations, and grow within Novant Health over time.

This position follows a set schedule of 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend required. Reliability and consistency are essential, as this role directly supports patient care and clinical operations.

• Serve as a key connection between hospital departments and Supply Chain Operations
• Stock, organize, and maintain supply levels in Med/Surg and other clinical areas
• Keep stock rooms and supply areas clean, safe, organized, and audit-ready
• Monitor product expiration dates and rotate inventory
• Manage specialty carts, kits, and select medical equipment
• Support shipping and receiving activities
• Work closely with clinical and supply chain team members to meet daily supply needs
• Perform frequent walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the shift

This is a physical, hands-on role—not administrative
. The work can be repetitive at times, but it is essential, fast-paced, and directly supports patient care every day.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED, required
• Some college coursework preferred (helpful for future growth and promotion opportunities)

• Experience

• Experience in a healthcare environment, preferred
• Inventory, logistics, warehouse, or stockroom experience, preferred

• Required Skills

• Ability to stand for long periods and perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting (up to 35 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs)
• Good vision and manual dexterity
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management systems

• Preferred Skills

• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Experience using pallet jacks, dock boards, or hand trucks
