Our Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Therapists provide comprehensive assessments, evaluations, and outpatient therapy services to deaf and hard of hearing adults and children, helping them achieve personal goals and lead meaningful lives.
Our therapists rely on their experience, knowledge, and education to deliver quality services, respecting the unique needs of the deaf community and culture.
We aim to support Deaf individuals in establishing stable living arrangements, learning new skills, and gaining employment, promoting independence while providing necessary support.
Responsibilities include:- Facilitating clinical intakes and assessments for individuals with mental health, developmental, and substance abuse challenges.
- Providing clinical assessments to determine needed services.
- Evaluating and treating clients effectively.
- Developing individualized, person-centered treatment plans.
- Using various therapy modalities.
- Providing individual and group therapy.
- Building trust and cooperation with clients and families.
- Maintaining professional boundaries and a therapeutic environment.
- Preparing reports and documentation.
- Complying with policies, laws, and regulations.
- Participating in quality assurance reviews.
- Encouraging self-exploration and insight development in clients.
- Submitting and managing authorizations and documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with confidentiality and record-keeping standards.
- Participating in team meetings and crisis response.
- Providing clinical support and training to team members.
- Doctorate Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Nursing, or Sociology.
- At least 2 years of relevant clinical experience.
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) with a proficiency score of Advanced Plus or higher.
- Knowledge of Deaf Culture.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to perform physical activities including squatting, crawling, and standing.
- Proficiency in CPR is required.
- Background checks, drug testing, credential verification, and potentially driving record checks.
