This is a part-time, flexible schedule, Recreational Therapist role based in Charlotte, NC. The Recreational Therapist will design and implement therapeutic recreation programs, assess clients’ needs and abilities, and set goals to enhance their physical, emotional, and social well-being. You will work closely with individuals and their caregivers, focusing on activities that foster independence, quality of life, and overall well-being. Responsibilities include one-on-one and group therapy sessions, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and maintaining documentation to monitor progress.
Qualifications- Experience and expertise in Recreational Therapy techniques, activity planning, and program development
- Strong assessment skills and the ability to set and track client goals
- Ability to provide support for individuals with neurodevelopmental, cognitive, and physical disabilities
- Proficiency in collaborative work with interdisciplinary teams and caregivers
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- LRT and CTRS Required
- Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field
- Familiarity with Medicaid Waivers and Specialized Consultative Services is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within assigned areas
