Overview
Novant Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support our Palliative Care Team. The CMA will coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the practice population.
Responsibilities- Conduct in-home patient visits (Travel to patient homes is required)
- Manage an average daily caseload of 4-5 patients
- Take and document vital signs during visits
- Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team
- Provide coverage for team members’ PTO as needed
- Support clinic or team needs when no patient appointments are scheduled
- Mileage reimbursement provided
- Education
- High School Diploma or GED - Required
- Medical Assistant Certification - Required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Candidates must provide proof of current certification from one of the following approved registries:
- CMA - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- CCMA - National Health Career Association (NHA)
- RMA - American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
- American Allied Health (AAH)
- RMA - American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
- If not currently certified, the candidate must:
- Obtain certification or registration by the end of the 6th month of hire
- Sign an education agreement
- Experience
- Previous medical office experience - Preferred
- Refer to Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096
- Licensure / Certification
- Current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire - Required
- Life Support Training per NH-HR-3096 - Required
- Current State Driver’s License - Required (Palliative Care roles only)
