OverviewAs an MRI Technologist, you are responsible for patient safety and the performance of high‑quality MR studies on site or remotely. You will ensure effective communication with radiologists, team members, patients, and customers, and when required, train and orient new technologists, patient coordinators, and MR technologist assistants.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for patient safety, including pre‑screening for contraindications and aseptic injection technique.
- Produce high quality diagnostic images and operate multiple MR systems as required.
- Use all channels of communication to address concerns, solve problems, and manage conflict.
- Effectively communicate with customers and/or radiologists.
- Train and orient new technologists, patient coordinators, and MR technologist assistants on site or remotely.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- ARRT (R) or ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT license, or ARRT in lieu of ARRT.
- State license if applicable.
- CPR certification.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Three months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience or currently enrolled in an accredited MRI training program for at least six months.
- MR registered technologist RT(MR) or ARMRIT: no experience required.
- Ability to work at several locations.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Organizational and multi‑tasking skills.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications.
- COVID‑19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
- Local travel may be required.
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.
- One year of Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience.
Employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit. Employee will be exposed to a strong magnetic field. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease, and communicable disease when interacting with patients.
More than 50% of the time:
- Sit, stand, walk.
- Repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs.
- See, speak, and hear to communicate with patients.
Less than 50% of the time:
- Stoop, kneel, or crawl.
- Climb and balance.
- Carry and lift (ability to move non‑ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
