Overview
Peds Trauma APP (Nocturnist) – Levine Children s Hospital – Charlotte, NC
Atrium Health Levine Children s Hospital is looking for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join their Pediatric Trauma Surgery team. The hospital is the only designated level 1 pediatric trauma center in the Charlotte region and the largest children s hospital between Atlanta and Washington, DC. This is a shift-based nocturnal position (7p-7a) with rotating weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities- Perform thorough history and physical assessments; evaluate, assess, implement plans, and monitor co-morbid conditions related to critical illness and injury.
- Collaborate with trauma surgeons and critical care teams to solve complex clinical cases.
- Perform surgical procedures after privileging by Medical Staff, including chest tube placement, placement of central and arterial lines, laceration repairs, and I&D, among others.
- Manage admitted pediatric trauma patients, attend pediatric trauma codes in the Pediatric ED with trauma attendings, admit to the floor or ICU as clinically indicated, perform procedures, and assist in the operating room.
- Shift coverage for pediatric trauma 24/7/365, with every third weekend and rotating holidays.
- Engage in teaching opportunities with residents and/or APP Fellows.
- Must have or be eligible for a DEA license. Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of practice. Eligible for prescriptive authority through the state Board.
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA) with expiration date more than 90 days from start date. PALS and ATLS preferred; current or required certifications as applicable.
- Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant credentials as specified; for PNP-AC:
Master s or DNP required, RN license, pediatric acute care board certification, and 1 year experience as a PNP-AC. - Physician Assistant:
Graduation from an accredited PA program; master's degree preferred; NCCPA certification preferred; 1 year experience required.
- Shift-based nocturnal model (7p-7a).
- Pediatric trauma coverage 24/7/365.
- Every third weekend, rotating holidays.
- Teaching opportunities with residents and/or APP Fellows.
$57.85 - $86.80
