CARE is seeking talented Registered Veterinary Technicians and Assistants to join our Critical Care team!
*** Sign on bonus of $1000 is included for this role***
Shifts Available:
- 1st shift ICU:9am to 7pm
- Work 5 days, have 5 days off, work 2 days, have 2 days off!
- All schedules offered are full‑time and overtime is available. Some additional shifts may come with bonuses attached!
- As a 24/7 hospital, some holidays and weekends will be required.
- Assist veterinarians in all aspects of care
- Provide advanced nursing care to patients with compassion
- Venipuncture: jugular, cephalic, saphenous
- IV Catheter placement
- Automated and manual laboratory analysis
- Digital radiology
- Triage patients and anticipate veterinarian's needs to maintain workflow
- Anesthesia induction, endotracheal intubation, and anesthesia monitoring
- Provide compassionate customer service to our clients

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of recent experience in veterinary practice or medical environment, with increasing responsibilities.
- Ability to perform routine veterinary medical procedures (e.g., collect samples, administer medications).
- Ability to maintain clear and accurate records and to invoice charges for all products and services rendered.
- Ability to properly restrain patients.
- Ability to lift 40lbs unassisted and lift objects up to 100lbs assisted.
- Knowledge of spelling and meaning of commonly used veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks efficiently without direct supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to show empathy toward clients and treat animals with respect and compassion.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- A commitment to outstanding client service.
- Ability to lift and remove patients safely from their cages. Some cages may be above your head.
- Ability to kneel while assessing or restraining patients on the floor or in lower cages.
- Ability to stay on task and work energetically for entire shift, sometimes exceeding 10 hours per day.
- Preferred:
Three years’ recent experience in a veterinary practice, with increasing responsibilities. - Preferred:
Current Registered Veterinary Technician License in North Carolina.
