Atrium Health is seeking a full-time Environmental Services Technician. This position promotes environmental protection by maintaining healthy and safe medical facilities for employees and visitors.

Pay Range: $18.50 - $27.75 per hour

Note:

Eligible for prepaid college tuition assistance up to $5,250/year.

• Performs complete cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting and sanitizing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures; washing windows, walls, ceilings, vents and light fixtures; sweeping, scrubbing and refinishing floors; vacuuming and shampooing carpet; restocking restrooms; replacing light bulbs; reporting repairs.
• Assist with indoor cleaning and may assist with outdoor cleaning such as parking lots, windows, and roof. May require use of a ladder.
• Handle cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, floor strippers and finishes with safety considerations.
• Remove waste by collecting and transporting soiled linen, emptying trash, changing sharps containers, transporting solid and hazardous waste to compactors, recycling, and emptying cigarette receptacles in smoking areas.
• Keep equipment clean and orderly and report equipment failures or other mechanical issues to maintenance staff.
• Maintain a safe working environment and provide quality service by complying with procedures, infection control guidelines, and departmental standards.
• Attend required in-service education and training classes including safety update programs to maintain technical knowledge and meet deadlines.

• Preferred:
  High School diploma or GED
• Preferred:
  One year of experience
• Ability to prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers

• Repetitive work according to set procedures; stressful, fast-paced
• Works in contaminated, isolation, construction and renovation areas
• Occasionally works in extreme temperatures and around unpleasant smells
• Exposure to individuals with varying conditions and illnesses
