Director, Regulatory Reporting
The Director of Regulatory Reporting will oversee the production and filing of complex regulatory reports with various bank regulatory bodies including the Federal Reserve and FDIC. This individual will work closely with the broader finance organization and IT partners in developing strategic and tactical reporting solutions to ensure that reports are prepared in accordance with the reporting requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the accurate and timely preparation, review, production and distribution of external corporate and bank regulatory financial reports, including reports distributed to or filed with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Federal Reserve Board (FRB). Communicate with internal and external auditors and examiners related to regulatory reporting matters.Provide strategic advice to the Director of Financial Reporting, Deputy Corporate Controller and other senior leaders on regulatory reporting matters. Lead the development of implementation strategies for complex and ever-changing regulatory reporting requirements.Lead the design and implementation of process changes and internal controls for new reporting requirements and monitor existing guidelines to ensure compliance with FRB reporting requirements.Oversee the collection and validation of enterprise-wide data used for regulatory reporting. Manage a governance group that reviews filings prior to submission, monitors regulator feedback, provides reporting metrics to management, and maintains documentation according to internal guidelines.Provide leadership on enterprise data strategies needed for regulatory reporting and coordinate with regulators and business lines on data submissions.Lead discussions with regulatory staff and provide analysis of changes in regulatory reports for use in oversight functions.Coordinate end-to-end data submissions with regulatory agencies (FDIC, FRB) and work with Regulatory Reporting, Risk Management and Executive Leadership to manage expectations and communications.Provide vision on reporting strategies, improvements and upgrades, and develop information delivery strategies for financial reporting and reconciliation; ensure data integrity, accuracy and availability of internal and external reports.QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, MIS or equivalentFifteen years of relevant financial systems experience, preferably in the banking industry; ten years in an environment using integrated data and governance platforms; ten years of leadership and supervisory experienceStrong leadership with integrity, decisiveness, and teamwork to drive business decisions10+ years SAS/SQL programming experience; proficiency with TOAD/AginityProficiency in ROLAP/OLAP tools and BI tools (e.g., Micro Strategy, Tableau)Ten years of experience accessing enterprise data sources and developing enterprise reportingExperience with databases such as DB2, Oracle or TeradataHigh energy and strong work ethic; ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple prioritiesSelf-motivated with the ability to work without supervision; capable of working under time constraintsStrong collaboration and communication skills; ability to present to internal and external stakeholdersProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsPreferred Qualifications:
Masters or advanced degree in Business, Finance, Economics or MISExperience with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project); project management experience or Six Sigma certificationExperience with change management tools (Team Foundation Server and/or Work Front)General Description of Available Benefits for Eligible Employees of Truist Financial Corporation:
